What taxes and fees are you being charged with Xfinity? Is it merely sales tax and perhaps the e911 fee, like most prepaids, or do they have fees similar to Verizon Postpaid (where it adds 15-25% to the bill)?

I'm a Comcast internet subscriber so I was thinking about getting a line to supplement my primary Mint line. It's hard to pass up free for a Verizon line with unlimited talk/text and 100mb of data. But I'm also interested in the taxes/fees for these lines, and I really don't want to throw away $156 on an LG X-Power. Hopefully BYOD will be available before long.

If I understand correctly, only as an additional phone, hopefully someone will correct me if I'm wrong. My understanding is you will pay a minimum of $12/month for the first phone, if you use less than 1GB of data. As I understand it, every additional line is part of that same $12 bucket, so the other phones are "free" so long as combined they use less than 1 GB of cell data.

OTOH, on the Xfinity Mobile page, it shows each additional line adds $12/month.

I think you get the first 100mb free for each line before dipping into the bucket.

Yes this is correct. If you don't use any data or don't want to rack up your bill you can turn data off and use wifi. Then your only paying for the phone itself

Yes, it is for 1 line. Set it up for my dad he has a flip phone from ST that he pays 30 a month for. If he doesn't use over 100mb it'll be 9.60 a month for the phone for 24 months. Going to set a data limit in android so hopfully he doesn't go over a 100mb.

Is Comcast already offering this across their footprint to any customer?

It is unclear if it is "nationwide," but it did roll out in many cities. I got the email this morning and some tech sites have reported it. The website is here.

Just turn data off! 100mb can be consumed with just leakage.

Google services will use that up in no time, even idle. Everything Android seems to be inefficient compared to iOS.

Any promo or way to buy the device at a cheaper price? At full retail
