Can I dump my iPhone 7+ for the Samsung Galaxy S8

The galaxy S8 looks nice, I kinda want it. I currently have a Jet Black iPhone 7plus. Instead of paying off the remaining balance is there a way I can give the phone back to Att and get a S8 instead? I bought the iPhone in October of 2016 so there's still a decent amount of cash owed on the phone. For what it's worth (I know, not much) I am on AT&T Unlimited plan.

Your iPhone is used and not worth the trade. You can pay it off and sell it and pay lots more towards the S8.

I'm sure that AT&T will be happy to exchange your used phone and give you a brand new S8 for free.

    Lol.

For the record, I was not implying I wanted a free phone. I was hoping I could trade in my old iPhone for the Galaxy and combine it with the negative equity I have in my iphone

Well if you bought on next it should be fairly simple. You pay remaining amount of payments that will get you to trade in point (12 months, 18 months, etc) and then trade in iPhone and start new next contract on galaxy.

Then I would have no service in areas where I currently have service. Definitely not worth the trade off.

I was wondering the exact same thing. I have an Android work phone and there is no way I would use that for my primary personal phone.

I prefer iOS too in general. But I'm blown away on the data performance of the Galaxy S8. I've been testing one after I received the unit I pre-ordered through Magenta's site. I have every streaming service set to the max and the S8 doesn't disappoint.

Support for LTE-U will be an added bonus.

I would wait a few months for the new iphone.
if you bought a lot of apps for your iphone, then you'll have to re-buy them all for android. You can't transfer any purchases over.
Also the new iphone is suppose to be out, probably in the next 4 months or so. And, usually doesn't apple tend to have trade in promos for their new iphones? I seem to recall last year they had something like trade in your old iphone and get the new one for pretty cheap
