    Freedom Wi-Fi calling

Looks like a launch is imminent, since the page is now up, and it even has a video with directions on how to enable it for the LG V20.

    https://www.freedommobile.ca/network...e/wifi-calling

I thought maybe we can use this thread to post the experience with the service. Do you have it enabled? Does it work yet? How are the calls! Share it with all of us here!

This will be a game changer for Freedom mobile.

One of the reasons why I'm holding on to my legacy plan. I don't need crazy fast speeds anyways, Wifi calling will be more needed.

I registered and got this response.

Your request is being processed. You will receive a confirmation text message when Wi-Fi calling has been activated. For more information about Wi-Fi calling, visit www.freedommobile.ca

I have updated my phone yesterday, and have made several VoWiFi Calls. Have made one test call, seems clear.

It takes a few minutes longer the first time you enable it. Keep it on like that and see if it connects to VoWifi in a few hours. Once it connects the first time it will work well.

Did you click the link and register your address for the 911 service?

^Yes I did input a Valid 911 address & almost immediately I received the text as shown in the above picture but it hasn't worked yet. Its been about 4 hours since that text came.

I think your second screenshot says "vowifi" on it doesnt it next to the wifi signal? Turn on airplane mode, then turn on wifi so you have no cellular service but you do have wifi. Then see if you can place a call.

P.S. You can press and hold Power+Vol Down to take a screenshot on your phone (and most other android devices)

Mine connects to WiFi Calling just by connecting to my home WiFi.

The above is a bit bigger than intended. Sorry about that, can't figure out how to make them smaller.

Last spam message for right now, Just wanted to mention that you are now also able to send text messages through WiFi now as well. Wanted to mention this as it has yet to come up. Again, sorry about the above images being so big, I'm new to this stuff...

Well there are reports that old sim cards don't work with wifi calling. If you have an old sim card you probably have to get a replacement. Call support and ask!
