That's garbage because gophone still offers 6gb for $40.

Meh.....It is getting to the point I'd rather they lower prices than increase the data bucket.

Me too. Data bucket means nothing to me, though avg consumers seem to value that more.

I care more about wifi calling and international roam/access...

I doubt they're going to lower the prices. They all seem to give you a little more for the same amount of money or a lot more for a little more money, they don't seem interested in giving you the same for less.

Anyway, hopefully this is true, if they want to give me more for the same price I'll take it!

Cricket still has to consider the group plan pricing -- 5 lines for $100 which comes out to $20/month

I disagree. More data is more beneficial for most people. Cricket can only go so low, but people are using data more than ever.

Exactly, this is awesome news if true. 4gb would be amazing... especially for $20 per group line.

As I got very close to 3gb last month I would be happy for a free upgrade to 4gb

Everyone has different priorities. My kids always run up to the 3GB limit every month, so a bump to 4 would be great. Of course, they're not paying the bill. If Cricket lowered the price then I'd be happy.

So unless a major competitor lowers prices, Cricket will be happy just to bump data allotments or add some new feature to make it look like you get more for the same price. And that allows Cricket to keep the income stable.

Someone who is identified as a "Cricket Store Manager" on Reddit is saying the same thing and that it starts this Friday...

$20 for 4GB of data (assuming you have 5 lines) is unreal. So happy I switched.

2 iPhones are better than one. Twice the fun. Ask anyone.

If my town would just get Band 4 LTE I would be all in now that far SW Iowa seems to have it.

Data is dirt cheap. Much more profitable to increase the data limit few max while charging the same price than giving everyone a lower monthly fee

    Good luck with that wish.

I think the floor is going to be around that 35.00/40.00 mark. 35.00 (using auto pay) isn't a bad deal at all.
You might do better on an MVNO but not on a carrier owned network.

It wasn't all that long ago 39.99 got you 450 talk minutes with free nights (starting after 9) and weekends. No text and no data. Oh, taxes and fees on top too.

Things sure have changed for the better.

The last increase slowed me down from switching to Gophone and this one seals the deal. With discount pins I end up paying $31.00 for the Cricket 40 and the most data I use is for tethering at a remote cabin. If Cricket ever prevents me from tethering I'll definitely slide over to Gophone.
