If I order the LG phone and not get the data package will I just pay for taxes and fees?

If you opt for the "by the gig" plan, and the cumulative total for all of your XM phones is less than 100MB data for your monthly billing cycle, then taxes/fees is all you pay. If you go over 99MB, then you are charged $12 for the first GB. I don't think you can carry over any unused portion of that gig. All month-to-month. I'm waiting for October 1 for my first bill to determine just what tax/fees amount to. Of course if one reads the fine print, any/all aspects of the plans are subject to change at XM discretion.

Please provide an update here if anything happens to your two inactive lines -- that wasn't of your own doing of course.

Incidentally, when do you think you'll activate (port over) your own numbers to your two inactive lines?
Received my first billing statement. Taxes/fees/911 surcharges ARE levied for each phone, whether in Pending or Active status. I called customer service, "Billing" option, to confirm 888-936-4968 and yes, the billing is correct. However, because this "policy" was/is not clearly stated, they volunteered to refund my first month's charges of $9. This covers my three phones, two are Pending, one is Active (with no data used).

UPDATE: To be clear, the $9 waiver was for one month only, going forward I would have to pay for each phone, active or pending.

Subsequent to the above call to CS "Billing", I called back on the same number but did not select "Billing", rather just stayed on the line until a CS rep answered. She was able to "deactivate the pending" status of one of my three phones, "deactivate the active" status of a second phone leaving me with one phone still in "pending" which I can port my existing # (from Tracfone) to when I activate. So now, she tells me, I will only be charged taxes/fees/911 for the one phone in (active?) pending status, like $3.32/month. At any time in the future, I can re-activate the two deactivated phones. or not.

Because I bought these three LGs for $4 each, I will not be returning them to XM. One can return phones within 30 days of purchase as long as all the packing material included, phone in like-new condition, but there is a re-stock fee of $35.

I finally activated my LG phone and ported my number from Tracfone. Initiating action completed online/automated, took a couple of minutes. One hour later received a confirmation text on the LG that the process was complete. All working well. BTW: the LG phones which were initially offered for $4 are now listed for $180. XM website still insisting, at this time, one cannot BYOP. Still not happy with just one bar of signal inside my house; have a work ticket active with XM, will see if anything comes of it. XM Support: if one has an issue other than something very basic/simple, do not use Chat. Chat is not authorized to do much of anything. Call the support # instead and you will be connected to an "XM Ambassador" who apparently has full authority to do whatever is required.

Preordered an iphone X last friday for delivery tomorrow.

Got a call from "account security" on tuesday. Called them back and spent half an hour answering asinine questions like "How much was your last comcast bill" "What's the name of the TV/Internet package you subscribe to" "What's the last on demand movie you rented" -- don't know how it's supposed to keep my account secure if all the questions you ask can be answered by logging into my xfinity account and downloading last month's bill. They called me again yesterday and spent another half hour answering the same damn questions, and by the end of it I was ready to pay the extra money to just get verizon instead.

But apparently I said the magic words because I got an order confirmation. Haven't gotten tracking details yet, though.

Bizarre. The only verification I have been asked for is the last 4 on the credit card on file and name/address/phone. Maybe they have been "burned" recently or perhaps some "red flag alert" in conjunction with your account, like there had been a recent hack-attempt? I usually don't mind jumping through their security hoops cuz it is for my protection also, but what they put you through seems a bit overboard.

Xfinity mobile is great. I was paying more for att but hardly used any data. mostly wifi. Even with the cost of the phones per month and using 1 gig max, I'm still paying almost half. And once the phones are paid off, I'll basically have a free phones lines for talk and text and data only if i need to use it. The only thing I don't like is having to pay full price for their phones. I wish they had a bring your own phone program I would much rather buy what ever phone I wanted rather then something from there somewhat limited selection. I have tested their sim on an unlocked device and it does work. but I have heard that it doesn't last . Not sure how true that is. If that were the case, I should have just bought some of their cheap phones when they were on sale simply to get the sim cards. Anyone else use a byop device for longer then a month?

Four months ago when I first read about the XM plan, they recommended use of their phones cuz they could not guarantee a BYOP would work properly, specifically BYOP may not connect automatically to Xfinity Wi-Fi hot spots. Now their literature points toward their phone as a requirement. Interesting to hear from any long-term BYOP'ers on this XM plan.
