I wonder if AT&T would give them a really generous roaming agreement. Kind of like the old situation with Verizon where you were about as good as Verizon if you had Sprint before they removed the manual roam settings and changed the PRL's to wait till the bitter end.
Also could someone remind me if Sprint's version of CDMA hands off to Volte?

But yes I agree as well that when Sprint has good dense signal it is top notch quality. Usually 60-80Mbps down, more than enough for Volte. Its just these suburban and Rural areas (which happen to be most of the country) which seem to be the issue. We just had our local tower upgraded to LTE in the last year and it was just the ground level upgrade. One thing to note is they have all three frequencies deployed here locally so the phones have lot more to choose from than just PCS 1900 and for that I am thankful.
Where I work is a very busy area and still needs LTE.

I would give Sprint a try again but it is worth an extra $100 a month to be able to converse with my family and use data for GPS wherever I need it, rather than waiting till I am in an LTE area.

It's strange how Sprint talked about density being the only reason they haven't launched VoLTE. Nothing has changed network-wise that suggests they are more dense today than 1-year ago. I suspect they're either on full-alert with the possibility of losing Verizon roaming or they want to get a leg up on a T-Mobile merger. Sprint's network still has too many holes to make VoLTE a reality. There are still markets where they haven't deployed any 800 LTE.

Is the best reply you could come up with?

I've never had AT&T VoLTE issues. On Verizon, VoLTE around downtown Boston was iffy until the oDAS/small cells went live. Now the service is solid.

There is no source from Sprint that claimed that. Stop spreading rumors.

Is Seattle not big enough? I still regularly see 3G on Sprint.

NNJ/NYC here. 3G is still very common on Sprint. NY Penn Station's DAS is still UNUSABLE 3G for Sprint, LTE for everyone else. That big enough!?

This happens in good signal areas where CDMA works just fine running off the same towers. (Manassas, Va, Washington DC, etc . . . . )

I can only imagine how VoLTE would work with even less LTE coverage. . . . .
I had this experience with T-Mobile when VoLTE was first released. It is just the pains of a change in technology that will be worked out over the next 9-12 months. It took T-Mobile a bit to get it working as reliable as the previous generations. Now I can say reliability on VoLTE is as good or better than the older generations in most situations...except deep inside some buildings or underground.

Me neither. About 80% of their towers here locally are still 3G. I can't see them doing that kind of buildout by EOY much less in a couple pf months.

Wow.. They can't even implement VoLTE.. This is a freakin OTT VoIP service which uses best effort routing and is not even using VoLTE protocols to ensure QOS in congestion..

This is = to something like the Vonage app over LTE...

All I can say is WOW.. WOW.....
