    hello,

    samsung SGH - I717M was bought in Toronto, Canada few years ago and is locked on Bell.

    i want to send it to my nephew to use in Ukraine

    question: would the phone work in Ukraine using their cell phone providers frequency? Is there a way to check this?
    i wanted to make sure before i unlock the phone

    Which provider in Ukraine? Most likely it will work.

    EDIT: Yes, it will work on 3G since it has 2100 MHz frequency and all Ukrainian operators use this frequency. 2G (900/1800) will work as well.

    Thanks TadMorose. Currently in Ukraine they use MTS, Life and KievStar operators.
