    Byod

Currently using VZW for the last few years, but capacity issues in areas that I frequent have led from slowed to sometimes nonexistent data coverage. I'm beginning to become more and more displeased as I ponder the high monthly price that I pay for what's turning into lackluster coverage.

I'm interested in a share plan from USCC and would prefer to use my unlocked iPhone 6/7/7 plus and an iPad that are currently active on my Verizon account.

Does USCC permit BYOD on postpaid/share connect plans, or is this something they offer on prepaid?

Also how are coverage and speeds these days? I'm in western Knoxville, TN.

Thanks in advance for your insight!

Typically No. You might get lucky with a iPhone but BYOD is generally prohibited.

I bought an unlocked Moto x pure and USCC registered it no problem. They did charge a $40 fee because they don't sell the phone. This was about 6 months ago.

If your account with Verizon is in good standing, meaning bill is paid up to date and your phones are paid off they will unlock your phones to use on another carrier.

All of Verizon’s LTE phones are sim unlocked out of the box. I just wasn’t sure if USCC had a BYOD option like other carriers advertise. It doesn’t sound like they embrace BYOD as enthusiastically as other carriers do. I’m going to have to make a decision soon, Verizon’s service in this area is going downhill fast.
