We'll remain T-Mobile until the combined entity gets bought by Charter and then we'll be called Spectrum Wireless.
“The Internet wasn’t meant to be metered in bits and bytes, so it’s insane that wireless companies are still making you buy it this way. The rate plan is dead — it’s a fossil from a time when wireless was metered by every call or text.” John Legere 1/5/2017

If it happens it will be interesting to see what happens with the prepaids of Sprint. Boost could easily be merged into metro, but with the way they just relaunched virgin as basically an iPhone exclusive carrier, just scraping that and merging it into metro seems pointless, not to mention if there is a contract on the virgin name. Sprint doesn't own the virgin name so there is a contract somewhere for some length of time that says it has to be virgin mobile. Maybe sell virgin off to American movil? I could see them buying it. Here's a completely hypothetical proposal. They merge boost with metro, sell off virgin to American movil, then sell off their Nationwide 800 MHz spectrum, which they really don't need with T-Mobiles 600 MHz winnings in the auction, to say U.S. cellular which enables U.S. Cellular to become a Nationwide carrier. Then still name the new combined T-Mobile/Sprint Fred wireless with the old guy and all that stuff lol. Just a hypothetical proposal, don't think it will happen. Remember at Fred's Wireless there are no dumb ideas, just bad solutions to real problems.

AT&T launched Aio, then bought Cricket shortly after. They then folded Aio into Cricket, while getting rid of the Aio brand altogether in the process.

Would a newly merged SprinTMobile merge one of Boost and Virgin brands with Metro and dump the other? Maybe. The above is a precedent.

I'd guess it'll be either T-Mobile or Sprint-Mobile. The Sprint brand will probably be dropped like AT&T dropped the Cingular brand.

Kind of the other way 'round. Cingular dropped the Cingular brand when they bought out the remains of AT&T.

You're right. I forgot. Cingular was owned by SBC and Bell South and then SBC bought AT&T and Bell South and then became the "new AT&T"

Sure hope then they don't drop the T-Mobile name if this goes through.
