Question Cutting SIM Card A Risk?

I've heard good and bad things about cutting a big SIM Card down to a Nano sized SIM Card, some say it worked wonders while others said it ruined their phone altogether. So what do you think of this?

Cutting a sim card does work but
You may run into a few problems
Such as the cut nano sim may not fit Quite right due to it being a tad thicker than one already pre cut.

True. I use a sim cutter eliminates all the risks

Well won't it be a risk if you cut the gold space on the SIM card or no?

Never had a SIM cutter that worked properly. If I was to attempt again I'd have a way to activate/obtain another SIM card. Have a spare, B&M hours, not late at night or weekends etc. Once I failed with a TM card but had a spare & was up & going within minutes. After CYA precautions. If cutting to nano, first sand the back to correct thinness & then cut.

I have 2 different size sim cutters. I used to use them when travelling overseas and dealing with whatever local sim was available. The last one I needed to cut was when I was adding someone to my T-Mobile account who had T-Mobile prepaid in a feature phone with a micro sim. We found him a decent iPhone 6s on Craigslist and cut his micro to nano size. It has been working fine for over a year. The older sims are slightly thicker than those that came out since the nano version, but it depends on the phone if it is an issue. Be sure and check the edges of the cut sim for burrs or irregularities. Use a fingernail file to smooth them to prevent them from snagging.

Well here are the 2 SIM cards, the nano sim card which is no longer activate, and the other SIM card which is activate just needs to be cut and not sure if I should cut it or not. :/

I did that once with my older iphone 4S, after I installed it, it got stuck, couldn't get it out. So you will have to file it down a bit, Why not just get a nano sim card from whoever you are be with.

I have done it with no issues, but I have seen people done it and have it stuck in the phone and not working. I would just get a new one that fits the fits that phone.

I have one and I've done it a few times in the past. while it may not always be a perfect fit (one time I had to take a pair of scissors down one side to shave just a slight bit off), it's never gotten stuck or caused an issue where the phone wouldn't work, etc.
