    Qualcomm iPhone 7

Does anyone else have issues with dropping to 3G a lot on their iPhones?

No more than my old iPhone 6s. I'm in LA though which is a pretty strong market. I usually have LTE or nothing at all.

And you'll have 3G infinitely more often on the Qualcomm iPhone than on the Intel iPhone haha

Do you have LTE Voice enabled in settings? I think turning on Advanced calling may help it stick to LTE better.

Yes. There are tons of threads here, at MacRumors and on Apple's forums on this issue. My 7 drops to 3G/1x significantly more than my wife's 6 does, and that includes international networks, not just VZW.

Software updates supposedly fixed this issue, but while they made it better for me specifically, it has never performed as well as its predecessor.

I don't notice a difference between my old 6 and the 7 on Verizon.
I now have the 7+, continuing my pattern of buying myself the new generation iPhone about every 2 years.

Agreed. The iPhone 7 is worse on Verizon than the 6S was for sure.

I do. It happens all the time. I have a 7 plus.
    Carrier History:
    Verizon Wireless 8/2016 - Present
    T-Mobile 4/2016 - 8/2016
    AT&T (formally Cingular) 12/2001 - 4/2016

I never drop LTE on the iP7 but I figured out that the X12 modem doesn't get along with the network in my market (an Ericsson territory) very well, and has an issue where it drops from B4 to 13 way too frequently. Also seeing an issue with CA speeds not being as good as an older iP6 (that isn't using CA) or the 6S, but that issue is specifically with the iP7 and not the X12 modem.
