Metro up data to 6gb. Will Cricket respond?

T-Mobile's MetroPCS prepaid brand has increased the amount of high speed data included with its $40/month plan from 3 GB to 6 GB. The plan also includes unlimited voice and messaging and unlimited 128 kbps throttled data after the first 6 GB is used.

Technically AT&T has already responded, GoPhone has a plan for $40 (after auto pay) for 6GB and Cricket just adjusted the data allotment at this price point I am not sure they will see the urgency unless Metro starts eroding their prepaid customer base.

I am ready for a $20/month smartphone price point.

This has been reached and exceeded by Sprint's 1 year free promo.

    Who's bigger, Cricket or Metro?

    Just curious.

5 or 6 gb would be nice though.

They'll throw you guys some Cricket Reward codes, its all they can do when they're scraping the bottom of AT&Ts congested network.

I don't know where you would find the number of customers broke down to the level of MetroPCS and Cricket, unless in some quarterly earnings statement. And then it may just be prepaid/postpaid.
I now have the 7+, continuing my pattern of buying every other iPhone generation.

The $40 price point is the real competition between Cricket and Metro. I think Cricket will respond if the new plan is permanent.

According to our resident member topic monitors/critics, this type of thread is not desirable, and thus must be derided and other wise criticized. :-)

I believe MetroPCS is T-Mobile. If T-Mobile works great in your area, give it a try. But until their coverage expand, don't bet on using your device across the states.

Agreed, I've got two tm mvno lines, which have many coverage holes, where cricket is great. On the other hand,tm works in a couple of places that att is weak.

Same here. I pay $20 per month for my line and earn about $15 per month in gift cards w/ Cricket Rewards. As far as I'm concerned it's pretty much free. Especially when you factor in the three $25 referrals I've earned in the three months since I've been w/ Cricket (two of those are random people from a Reddit referral thread). Plus, on top that, I'm on the AT&T network, which most everyone agrees is better than the T-Mobile / MetroPCS network. I couldn't be more thrilled w/ Cricket (a couple extra GB's are always welcome though!).

Of course they won't offer a 3 GB plan for half the price.

No one's willing to drop prices, just bump data for many who don't need the extra.
