    Walmart $199 iPhone6 question.

Wondering if I could activate one of these on the AT&T side of ST. If I put the sim in before turning it on.

Would like to buy one of these but I don't want the Verizon service and that is what it comes with.

I use a Walmart ST 5s on ATT Tracfone, so yes it will work.

Yes, it should work, Verizon iPhone are factory unlocked. You may need to keep a Verizon sim just for activation then switch the sim after it's activated.

The factory unlocked for postpaid iPhones does not apply to these phones. I have the $159 SE from Walmart. Though it came with a Verizon Tracfone sim card a genuine Verizon postpaid sim card did not work in this SE. I didn't get the $199 iPhone 6 at Walmart but it works just the same

An AT&T tracfone sim card worked fine. See the posts in the Tracfone forum.

It should work! Pretty much the iPhone 6 sold at Walmart for $199 is programmed to be used with "almost" any Tracfone carriers and no other carrier until 12 months are up.

I will most likely be finding out for sure if it works or not in the next few weeks.

Trying to squeeze all the life out of my well used 5s that I can for now. It is giving me troubles and could die any day.

I will give an update here when the time comes but Im leaning towards your thoughts on it Vicpdx17.

Verizon post paid iPhones are unlocked. Verizon prepaid iPhones can be unlocked after 1 of 2 conditions are fulfilled. See link below for the unlocking policy for prepaid.

Still getting by with my old 5s but it does randomly shut down.

Last shut down I thought it was done. Took a while to get it started back up.

Now I'm thinking to try to make till around Christmas to see if ST cuts the price of iPhone 6 even more or offers a deal on the 6s.

Have you tried changing the battery before?

Yes. About 6 months ago had a new battery installed. Holds a good charge. After I got it restarted from the last shut down it still had 67% battery remaining.

I believe that the battery percentage does not become erratic where you may see it at 40 percent and after that it jumps to 20 then turning it off it jumps back to 40 right?
