    NYC 3G shut down

Just heard that Verizon totally refarmed all 1900PCS in NYC to LTE! Does anyone know if evdo is also on 850mhz or just 1x? If it isn't then NY just has 4G or 1x

Yes evdo runs off 850mhz also. They have done the same thing on other markets to get B2. In New York vzw has 15x15 on B2

I thought lte could only be 5x5, 10x10 & 20x20? You can also do 15x15?

Yes the entire 40 MHz of PCS they own here is on LTE now. So currently we have 20x20 band 2, 20x20 band 4, and 10x10 band 13 deployed. All that's left to refarm is 25 MHz of 850. All 3G is now left on 850 only. With more densification and LAA coming , the Verizon network in NYC will only get better.

That's right B2 used to be 15x15 it's now 20x20. I knew that yet forgot. Lol

So now the plan is to deploy Small cells in LAA ( 5 GHZ). Perhaps we will see them on urban macros as well ? They've already accomplished nearly 1 gigabit speeds using this technology so it should really give our market and others nationwide a jolt in speed and capacity in the next 6-12 months

In NY they would do Gigabit LTE just using 3xca thru B2,4,13 cause it 50 mhz total on down link.

Yup! Added with 4x4 MIMO and 256 QAM. We are so fortunate to have two wideband channels. Most markets don't , still but LAA and the other LTE technologies will work wonders. I still would like to see them go after Dish , more capacity is needed for many areas IMO

    and 1.4x1.4. 1.4, 3, 5, 10, 15, and 20 MHz are the bandwidths in the current standard.

Verizon sure needs it. Their band 13 is congested in so many areas. I was a big critic of theirs when they skipped the 600 MHz auction. AT&T is sitting pretty in the lowband department with over 70 MHz nationwide.

Is that B12,5,14? Cause att didn't buy 600 mhz Nationwide? I live in a area where they did. 5x5.

Yes 5,12, and 14. They also bought scattered licenses of 600 ( the most is in Dallas at 15x15). AT&T sure has enough spectrum. It's all on Verizon to keep up with capacity. They are third in spectrum holdings amongst the carriers.
