For much of their network, whether post paid or prepaid, Verizon speeds have become slower here in N. Ca this past year. I moved my two lines (i pre., 1 post) and not going back. What's interesting is that my MetroPCS lines are much faster than my Cricket line..60-75mbps on Metro vs 3-6mbps on Cricket. GF's post paid At&t is also slow at 15-20mbps.

That shouldn't be a surprise at all.

The data speeds have dropped even lower. In the morning during rush hour, I'm getting a max of 1MB down. I feel like its a way to force us on Post Paid. Have any of you still on prepaid changed anything to better the speed?

Have any of you switching from prepaid to postpad noticed a stark difference?

Here in the Hudson Valley my speed was 27.6 Mbps upload and 8.19 Mbps download. Not the greatest but it works! No 0.43 upload or 5.43 download. Maybe your area is conjested. Notify Verizon and maybe they will have a technician check the towers in your area.

I've noticed some sluggishness with my Verizon prepaid line as well. I had problems syncing my fitbit to the app via the server the other day, problems opening some websites, and just the other day problems sending / receiving hangouts messages, on my Verizon line. I pulled out my Cricket phone, side by side, and bam, got instant response compared to my Verizon line, very surprising.

The interesting thing is though, it's spotty. I did a speedtest yesterday and the results were 86 mbps down and 24 mbps up, which is damn impressive and about 10 times faster than my cricket line. But in actual use, my cricket line has been faster and more robust in some cases when my Verizon line slowed down.

And for those saying MetroPCS is faster... yea so is my wifi, if I never leave one location, LOL. Can't compare MetroPCS to Verizon or Cricket at all, for me unfortunately. T-mobile has a loooooonnnnnggggg way to go to compete for those who value coverage.

Supposedly Verizon post and pre-paid. I do know my speeds have dropped. I used to consistently get 100Mb/s+ speeds. But now I see speeds between 60Mb/s and 85 Mb/s. Which is still fine with me. Fortunately I'm not seeing any of these slow 10Mb/s speeds in the DC area.
So as far as any sluggishness with usage on my Galaxy S8, I have none.

I havent noticed a degradation in internet speed. In 63144 area code St Louis still seeing:

    Latency: 35ms
    Download: 53.28 mbps
    Upload: 10.36 mbps

If only Verizon prepaid would include an option to call from Mexico and Canada like ATT Prepaid i would be 100% satisfied.

Edit: I would like to add that last weekend when i visited my parents in Pocahontas Arkansas 72455 the data experience was sketchy. I only had a few hours that i was trying to use it though (wouldnt stream Pandora). Not enough time to say one way or the other but still found it odd.

Very Poor Data Experience Since The Recent Plan Updates

I have not once experienced slower data speeds than postpaid. Prepaid is always being Deprioritized just like the new basic unlimited plan but I haven’t noticed yet. The beyond unlimited customers get first dibs. I’ve been in congested areas and still received same speeds as postpaid. It wasn’t super slow but speeds were around 2-3 Mbps.
