It looks like the recent congestion problems are finally being acknowledged in the worst of ways. New changes incoming tomorrow, even for legacy unlimited data plan users:

This explains the video throttle tests last month.

I'll be passing on that. With tax I'd be looking at close to 90 so it's a definite no way.

I wonder if employer discount would apply to the lower unlimited tiers. That would actually be pretty cool for me.

So will they allow people drop their Gudp lines without an ETF since they're changing the rules?

AT&T is already halfway there with their "Unlimited Choice" plan—but at least their "Unlimited Plus" plan offers the option to disable video throttling.

Doubtful...they'll probably call this "reasonable network management" and say it's not really a plan change.

Yes if it stays like that. I'm cool.

According to the article, tiered data plans are only going to have access to throttled video.

    Ugh.

"...and there’s no way to watch 1080p on a phone anymore..."

Not even with a VPN, that is clever of them, I guess those will be slowed to 720p or 480p? Interesting...

I knew this was inevitable. Verizon's claims " the network is doing just fine". "We don't need spectrum". All bogus...they sure do need more capacity otherwise they wouldn't have to do this.
