D3.1 will definitely be a big boost for those areas that have cable, but everybody else will still be stuck with the slows.

Edit - AT&T and Frontier do offer DSL in some areas, but I think the fastest available up here is around 25 Mbps down, at my place in Redwood Valley, AT&T only offers 768 Kbps DSL, yuck lol
That's horrible! 768kbps! Is there a reason AT&T hasn't upped the speed? I'm wondering why they don't lay Fiber I know it'll cost a lot and well it's not very populated up there but people would instantly get AT&T (or so I think) if they offered 1Gbps there would be no point in going with anyone else. I also wonder if there's anything that makes it difficult for them to provide Fiber like the trees, etc.

Found this. Apparently Comcast does provide Fiber up that way but I wouldn't be able to confirm I'm just going off what the screenshot shows. Not that you would want to get it cause it's quite pricey. Name: ImageUploadedByHoFo1505082329.737567.jpg

Yeah, that was a glitch in their system, it got me excited, for nothing lol

As to why they don't deploy better internet, they just don't care about areas like ours, if it can't make them stacks of bills, no go, even if it would help out areas like this, and in turn, America. They did try a few years ago to build a redundant fiber network to serve rural areas across NorCal, including Mendocino County, it was called the Golden Bear project, but lobbyists, along with Verizon, AT&T and Comcast helped to kill it, they won't provide to areas like ours, but when those areas try to do something themselves, the big guys cry foul.

I think carriers like att and Verizon will try wireless solutions in these areas with 5G connectivity. Lower latency and broadband plans with wireless modems. They probably figure wiring the area will cost them too much money and want to make profits via wireless.

Broadband plan ex 50gb, 100gb, 1tb, unlimited etc

Give an option for a static IP address

Gateway with multiple Ethernet ports (built in router)

Just like clearwire tried to do before but now with low band spectrum and better high speed networks.
    Etc.

At least a couple of companies including SpaceX are planning low-latency satellite networks as well. I would expect Verizon and AT&T to charge an arm and a leg for fixed wireless, but maybe with some decent competition, prices will be reasonable.

Throttled as well. 4X4 MIMO seems to be doing well, but not much I can do with it lol.

So you're saying that it's solving the problem VZW intended it to solve?

Maybe coincidence - back down to 3Mbps at the most on speedtest
    1.5 on fast.com

Earlier when it was 4, I could actually watch 1080p video on the device and it kept a good buffer going. 'Youtube'

Just thought you should know. Apparently PureVPN helps the government. It was somewhere on Reddit.
