    Cricket Wireless $50 unlimited plan

    Hello,

I heard some great news this morning. I haven't officially confirmed this tidbit yet but my cricket guy has been pretty good lately.

Cricket is launching a $50 single line unlimited plan. This is great news and shows the company is willing to play ball.

I don't have the speeds yet but will update as I hear more!

So this is the two for $80 and that's allowing one for $50?
Get $25 credit by switching to Cricket Wireless! Then $250 by referring others! Same AT&T signal! Click here!

If this is really true I might consider switching back from Gophone to Cricket for this plan. Right now I'm on the $45 Gophone plan & I pay $40.50 a month through Callingmart. It might be worth it to me to get unlimted data for about $10 more per month. And yes I know there are those that will scream "but, but, but it's limited to 3mpbs"!

The thing is though, when I used Cricket a couple of years ago I had a non LTE phone so I was limted to 4mpbs on HSPA and it suited my needs just fine. In fact I expected to notice a speed difference when I switched to Gophone & that didn't happen. Everything seemed to load the same as it did on Cricket including web pages, audio streaming & video streaming. So is there really going to be that much of a difference in 3mpbs vs 4mpbs?

Too many here on HoFo think data speeds are the gold standard when chosing a provider.

Many in the real world only know that their phone either works or it doesn't.

Is this replacing the $60 8mbps plan I wonder? In an attempt to get people on 3mbps.

Imo, and I have absolutely nothing but my opinion, it seems just another option to choose from. For the first time in a while, I ran over my 4gb plan(which had 8gb speed), decided to try the new plan. I can't tell a lot of difference between the two. I'm sure there is, in that neither is as fast as my office Wi-Fi, and still be going back to the basic plan in a few days as I just don't needed unlimited all the time, but I'm glad it's available.

It will work off of the unlimited 2 plan.. its $55 with a $5 autopay discount. Not sure what the intention is but customers will eat up the promotion.
