    Data overage $70/GB

    Koodo has joined the Gang.

    Billed $7/100MB, up from $5.
    40% increase.

    Data overage $70/GB

Wow they're just money hungry eh! $7/100MB is just insane...well if the shock free data triggers there is always an option to choose $20/GB. Pay per use is $7/100MB so if you think you will be using a GB then choose the $20/GB option...

Well, TELUS is at 10˘/MB now. TELUS leads the gang as TELUS Mobility, and then follows it as Koodo Mobile.

I thought the wireless code required all data overages to be capped at $50 but I would never get to this scenario anyway

Ya, its capped but that doesn't mean you can't say "Yes" to continue using the data....the carrier's got smart, they made it so your first $50 get you very little....

Now your going to get 700MB before you get the message to continue, once you do....you'll end up in the record books for the biggest bill....how? You authorized it.

@$7/100 MB, $49 = 700MB, Before at least you got 1024 = 1GB for $50 before you got the text to authorize further charges...

They are not charging 30% premium....for no apparent reason at all....

that sucks. Shows the CRTC has no teeth in this wireless code and they are in bed with the carriers (many CRTC folks used to work for Big Telco).

Glad I'm on the old MB plan where it is $10/GB if you go over so even if I were to have 6GB it is still under $60 like my original iPhone4 data plan but I'm no where near using that much data at a given month

It should be like Asia where you get 10GB for $10 and that includes phone/text (but they don't use it that much anyway) and not this stuff where we are nickeled and dimed

They are already have a lot of cheap wireless plans in the US with unlimited calls so it is a matter of time before pressure is put on the big 3 here to do something but they are over protected by the CRTC and hence why Verizon decided to not come here.

At TELUS, you can manually add extra 2 GB for $25 and not use data at the overage rate. So it is not too bad. Koodo is ridiculous offering 1 GB for $20.
