What part of the city do you live in?

Verizon is spanking the others in my immediate area.

It really all depends on your location. I live in the South Central US region, in Oklahoma, and AT&T tends to perform much better.

I use an iPhone. There are other phones that can, or should, be able to be used with different carriers though. Think the Nexus line has 1-2 phones that work.

No VoLTE/VoWiFi on AT&T. The Moto E/G/X series lacks B29 and B30 and VoLTE/VoWiFi on AT&T. The iPhone will do everything on anyone's network.

Motorola is in the process of pushing an update that hopefully fixes most of the existing issues with this phone on Verizon. Apparently it was market specific, so some people found VoLTE unusable and others didn't have problems. Without the latest update, you get garbled audio. I have this phone as a backup phone, so I've never seen it since it is currently on an emergency ATT MVNO line.
I now have the 7+, continuing my pattern of buying myself the new generation iPhone about every 2 years.

Yes, but I've heard no VoWiFi, and confirmed no Travel Pass. It kind of sucks that they still have reasons why you have to get Android phones from that particular carrier, or get an iPhone.

Wonder what would happen if you activated Travelpass while connected to a supported phone, then transferred SIM. Assuming the phone has the appropriate LTE bands for the country you visit, I can't see any reason it wouldn't work. You aren't actually using the Verizon network when overseas.

I'm not going to transfer back to Postpaid before my trip next year just to test this out.

Good question. I wonder what their explanation for this bizarre limitation is? I wonder if it's Verizon being horrible and anti-competitive, or being totally incompetent, and botching a program that's supposed to check for supported global bands by device type, and it just bombs out when it hits an unknown IMEI?

On my unlocked iP6 it won't let me add TravelPass from the app but I can do it online as long as I don't do it through the "International Ready Check" tool. It adds just fine.
