    It's called "Coverage Map"

It gets its test data from the SpeedSmart app.

The iPhone is a special animal. It is generally treated nicely on all the networks because Apple is magic and requires the carriers to behave like good little children. There is no such governing force on the Android side.

In California, Verizon is the best in being reliably usable and coverage. I wouldn't have switched if this wasn't the case.
It is not necessarily the fastest, but I nearly always have a reasonably good data speed. I think they are a bit overloaded for their capacity in certain urban areas. In some rural areas, it's literally the only carrier with any kind of signal.
That being said, you can go to specific places where AT&T is better, like Disneyland where AT&T has become some kind of ad sponsor and packed the park with cell sites. I don't think Verizon has quite the network presence there because I do lose connectivity in some parts of the park, particularly inside ride buildings. (AT&T used to suck terribly there.)

Has this story been posted yet? It concludes basically what I have observed anecdotally.

I can't quite figure out how to prove this yet but I suspect they're clamping down harder on depri users lately, within the last couple of weeks or so. I'm seeing suspiciously slow speeds in places I wouldn't expect to be slow or know for a fact aren't.

    What are depri users?
As a US citizen I have the right to criticize my government. My thanks for this is endless in magnitude. I fear fascism is here in the US. [fascism: government led by a dictator having complete power, forcibly suppressing opposition & criticism, regimenting all industry, commerce, etc., & emphasizing an aggressive nationalism & often racism]
