It's hard to find, but it's worth supporting

Could it be the new program they're testing? Where they put the antenna on the power line and on the customer's property. I forgot what they're calling it.

I thought about Air gig too as a possibility. I really have no clue since I didn't see community fiber maps as permits would be filed with the local government or see who put the cables in or any markings. It does look like fiber conduit at first glance but with a pole and nothing connecting to it and nothing nearby it seems rather odd and my instincts tell me it is for governmental like traffic related or emergency services or something else.

NYC has loads of equipment on poles. I have seen microcells for wireless as well as loads of wireless networks for city related services from NYPD, NYFD, traffic related and so forth as well as in ground fiber conduit from providers like AT&T, Lightower, RCN, Verizon, and more depending on which part of the city.

Even when on boats, I have seen numerous fiber optics cable signs alerting to undersea cables or when traveling by the railroad rights of way where a lot of fiber optics also had been installed.

A county office which handles the permits should know. In NYC a website actually lets you know of permit work and that is why around where I live, I know Lightower which was acquired by Crown Castle is building out additional conduit between at least two different locations for fiber optics. Another Lightower permit was for City usage, either nypd or nyfd, I forget.

AT&T owned fiber around in NYC is under the former Teleport Communications acquisition as it was outside of their Incumbent local exchange territories in addition to their original long haul cables.

This is a big bundle of fiber. Spectrum is probably doing a node split in my area. Wish it was for small cells but a cell tower is 1 block away.

I see your carrier is Verizon. Happy with them lately? I've noticed a serious deterioration in network performance. Often times slows below 1 Mbps on towers that have not been updated.

Verizon is actually sad.. I have yet to see over 82 Mbps in the entire state. As for AT&T, this past weekend I saw well over 220 download.
