    Is this sub-forum dead?

There have been no topics in a very long time. Are there discussions on US Cellular somewhere else?

Just as dead as USCC itself.

Hopefully some larger company comes in and scoops up USCC, basically just making profit on roaming.

I'd only want that to happen if the company that acquired them has the same commitment to rural areas like ours (Mendocino County, Northwestern California) that USCC does. Here, USCC still has the best coverage in our area, though Verizon is right on their heels, AT&T is a close third, and T-Mobile brings up the caboose at 4th (though they are improving here a lot). As for speeds, Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile lead by far, USCC has the slowest LTE speeds.

Edit - I'd still not be too thrilled about it, it would take us down from four carriers (VZ, AT&T, T-Mobile, USCC) to three, and the last thing rural areas need is less competition.

I'd go for a T-mobile merger, but I don't see that happening considering how much spectrum T-mo bought up in the rural areas

For me, I'd be gone if it wasn't for a substantial recurring discount.

Unfortunately where I am (just moved here) in rural West Virginia they are the only one I have found with service at my house. It is a lot more expensive from what I came from on Cricket.
