No add-on Apple Watch service for Cricket and prepay

I just read an article that only the big four will offer Apple Watch service: Sprint, Tmobile, ATT and Verizon. No prepay services will offer it. I hope this is temporary as millions will be left out with stand alone Apple Watch cell service.

Get $25 credit by switching to Cricket Wireless! Then $250 by referring others! Same AT&T signal! Click here!

I haven't worn a watch since I broke my Mickey Mouse watch in elementary school back in the 70's. I just never seemed to need one.

I am not surprised with the new watch launch since the watch features are a premium and most MVNO's are about value.
According to Apple's website of licensed iPhone features, most MVNO's do not offer all the iPhone features such as hotspot and wifi calling. In the future I would expect the carrier owned MVNO's to offer the service.

Why would anyone be surprised that Apple locked down a device. Maybe wait and see if there is a workaround.

The article is from April 2015 since a prediction is being made about full year watch sales for 2015.

Give it 3-6 months. The prepaid mvnos always lag, but come on board eventually.

It’s not Apples fault that MVNOs don’t have the infrastructure? Cricket needs to complete its WiFi calling service and integrate the “calls on other devices feature”.

The Apple watch will become even more popular as it add health benefits such as glucose monitoring, irregular heartbeat notifications, etc. Perhaps MetroPCS, Boost, and Cricket will add the apple watch function next as they have many users that can bring in $10 per line for the big 4.
