AT&T vs Verizon: better building penetration (Dallas)

Looking to leave T-Mobile and leaning towards AT&T as we have DirecTV. My wife and I are tired of barley being able to use our phones in buildings.

We live in south Dallas. Who has better building penetration?

    Thanks

Don't know but either one is gonna be okay. No carrier even guarantees in-building coverage sadly. T-Mobile in theory will have better in building coverage when they turn on 600mhz band in Dallas and you have a compatible phone.

I have directv and AT&T and were in Roanoke Va. Coverage is good until you get to the very rural areas but I like the fact that I can watch tv anywhere! Been streaming the weather channel at work

According to Rootmetrics Verizon ranks first in Overall Performance, Network Reliability, Network Speed, Data Performance, Call Performance, and is in a 4 way tie for Text Performance. I’d say the choice is clear.

    Galaxy S7 - Carrier Aggregation Band 30 10 MHz PCC + Band 4 10 MHz SCC1 + Band 12 10 MHz SCC2
    iPhone 7 - Carrier Aggregation Band 4 10 MHz PCC + Band 2 10 MHz SCC1 + Band 12 5 MHz SCC2

    -

Intel iPhone 7 Plus- AT&T Unlimited Plus

Not really. I have AT&T in the Dallas area with no coverage problems. Verizon like AT&T does have poor coverage areas in Dallas.

I haven't looked at the 600mhz band stuff. When is that supposed to come to Dallas - another year or two?

AT&T vs Verizon: better building penetration (Dallas)

Building penetration, AT&T. They own both blocks of 800mhz cellular plus 10x10 of 700. Verizon only has 10x10 of sub 1ghz spectrum, essential for in building penetration.

I don't put any thought into rootmetric testing as it appears to be biased.

Edit: AT&T and T-Mobile bought 600mhz in the Dallas market.

AT&T is the best in Texas.

Thanks for the replies so far! Anyone know when the 600mhz band will be able for use in Dallas?

I'll be honest, I'm a fan of Verizon in my location (it really is the best where I am). But if I lived in Dallas, I'd change my favorite colors to blue and orange in a heartbeat.

Maybe in a few years, still a very new band, and tv stations are still broadcasting. Though T-Mobile is doing a good job at speeding that pace up significantly.

Next question is should I bring my 7plus iPhone from T-Mobile to AT&T (Intel) or go ahead and get one with a Qualcomm modem? Is there that big of a difference?

If so I guess I could find a sim-free one.

If you don't need CDMA (which you won't for AT&T), then the Intel will be fine.

I just hope things perform better with buildings and stores than currently with T-Mobile! I'm so ready to switch.

I was thinking of going sim-free in case I was disappointed with AT&T. I could then jump to Verizon with no issues.
