It is not always the fastest. I'm just now just got only 2 mbps. I typically see arount 3 to 6 mbps.

Simple is deprioritized on Tmo network. But I can usually watch about as much video as I want. Even via hotspot.

I just finished my second month of hotspotting. 70 GB hotspot out of a total of 100 GB.

I can live with that for about $25/mo.

I will get the sim soon and will let you know the speeds. Gwite, what are your plans if this gets capped?

I've heard people are buying a T mobile sim for 60 bucks, but that is significantly more expensive.

I would just have to make do with the official 8 GB. Been doing for months without any hotspot at all.

But I would also try T-Mobile with the same type ebay-preloaded deal. Emphasis on "try".

Tmobile One has unlimited 3g hotspot, but I have read at least one poster here saying they get full speed hotspot. At the same time another said his Tmo hotspot was almost unusably slow.

Also keeping an eye out for a great deal on a phone that will unofficially tether with Cricket.

In fact I just bought the new ZTE Blade Z Max, virtually free from MetroPcs w/port, that may be able to do the Cricket hotspot thing, when unlocked. The previous generation ZMax Pro supposedly could.

What phone will you be using for your SimpleM hotspot?

I was going to try using my Lumina 635 phone or my LG phoneix 2... I think they support Tmobile right?

you can the sim in a hotspot device but you might get a warning about using
an unauthorized device. so use at your own risk.

Let us know how it works, if you try it.

Do the hotspot devices (mifi, etc) have more range than the typical smartphone?

You can get ones with external antenna connectors.

If I'm gonna try, I just need to buy preloaded sum, right? Any good eBay guys selling them?

Yes, the preloaded sim is all you need for your compatible(unlocked) device. Make sure you are in tmobile coverage area.

I just go for best price and 99%+ rating. Don't think I've ever bought from same seller more than once. None have ever failed to deliver with over 16+ buys.

Look at the going offers and try a "or best offer" seller. Make a decent, low offer. I just got one about a week ago for $19 total. Although I think anything $25 and under is a great price.

Make sure you read and understand the terms. I like to get shipping with tracking(first class package).

I'm in an excellent T-mobile area, using my prepaid business line through Nettalk I get 90+mb d/l & 20mb u/l. I had the preloaded ebay simple mobile sim a year ago or so and the speeds were capped to low 20's d/l, even though I was using foxify to try and hide the tethered (usb to my pc not wifi) usage I remember getting warning messages about usage and stuff, but that was a year ago.

I'm looking to go back to simple mobile tethering after 4G community decided to shut down. Thanks gwite, repped.

Be careful if you need those really high speeds. Don't know if they are still there at Simple. I know they used to be but now, maybe not.

15 to 20mb d/l is good enough for my needs, which I used to get when I had simple mobile service a year ago or so.

It's just that T-mobile's service over here is much faster.

Ebay, I usually go with whichever is cheaper & has good feedback.

    @ Wolverinex

Do you mean as a cell phone service? dropped calls..etc? Or a data tethered only?
