My Nokia 2610 just died (my 1st cell)

My first cell was an AT&T GoPhone, the bar style Nokia 2610. Hadn't used it in years but kept it for the memories. It had a cute tree frog theme. Liked its ringtones. It did email. The browser was primitive but it was my first view of mobile browsers. I went on to a Sony Ericsson & a qwerty Pantech Slate but would charge the 2610 to preserve it.

It was charged the day before it died. I switched it on to check notepad for old email info & it gave out a blip & died. I couldn't revive it.

Just wanted to note that i liked the old Nokia's. Wanted a 6085 flip that had a radio but got an AT&T bundle deal Sony Ericsson instead, then the Pantech Slate.

Its too bad the Nokia died as it was a period piece from cellular history. They bring back memories. Its too bad they aren't offered anymore by many of the phone service providers like AT&T & Tracfone.

That phone cannot operate on AT&T now, anyway. It is 2G GSM/GPRS only, and AT&T no longer broadcasts that type of signal. Today, you need at least a 3G (UMTS) phone, at the minimum.
