has the phone been used on sprint network for it to be eligible for unlock ??
sprint may give you the runaround when trying to unlock a phone.
and i hear it is getting harder to get the phone unlocked for domestic use but easier for international use.

It may be possible, but there are unlocking services using a usb cable and the unlocking service accessing it to take the sprint lock out on ebay.
