    ATT spare one phone

I bought one of these and it works with my Tracfone ATT sim. These are going for cheap on Ebay now. It uses 2 AA batteries and works like a cordless house phone. I'll probably just throw it in my glove box.

Last year Target was clearing them out for $2.98 and I bought one.
It's a nice sturdy little phone.
    I like the flashlight.
A lot of people here on HoFo bought them too.

Recently AT&T sent out notifications to people who were using the SpareOne service that they were going to discontinue that service and they were offering refunds on the balance and/or credit to use AT&T prepaid service and an inexpensive phone to replace the SpareOne phone.

I never got around to activating mine on the SpareOne service.

Good to know that it does work with the Tracfone AT&T SIM.

Thank you for posting your experience with the phone.

A speed dial list that goes in a window in the back of the phone and glow in the dark buttons - how quaint!

I have a spare tracfone number that has about 15 years on it and 1000+ minutes. Bought one of these phones to
throw that number on. The phone was very cheap on ebay and since it is an ATT Go phone I transferred the
number from a Verizon BYOP sim to an ATT BYOP sim. After 4 days I had to do a Tracfone chat to actually get
    this done.

Now that I am looking at the User Guide I see this: "SpareOne Emergency Phone supports GSM or UMTS (WCDMA) network".
Does this mean I could of used the Verizon BYOP sim?? Don't know what (WCDMA) is. It has a panic
button and flashlight and actually seems like a pretty good phone. The speed dial window not great.

If there is someone in the household that is challenged (dimentia) or disabled it might work better than a
    regular cellphone.

I believe that WCDMA is a GSM thing not a Verizon thing.

    That's correct.
