BYOD iPhone 7 From Boost Mobile to T-Mobile

I have an iPhone 7 bought from Boost Mobile and when my year is up, I'd like to have Boost unlock it and move it to T-Mobile. Is this possible? Will I lose and functionality? What do I have to do to make this happen and bring my phone number?

The Iphone 7 used on Boost contains the LTE bands that T-mobile uses, band 2, 4 and 12. See the chart here:

    https://www.apple.com/iphone/LTE/#ip...-iphone-7-plus

So you won't lose any functionality.

You'll have to review Boost's unlocking policies to see what you need to do for that.

As for porting your number to T-mobile, you'll just provide T-Mobile with your number and usually your account PIN for Boost, and they will get the number transferred to T-Mobile.

I'll just add that when a customer requests "an unlock" from Sprint, they often provide only an unlock for using an international SIM, not a full domestic and international unlock. Be sure that you request a "full domestic & international unlock" and that you test the phone with a SIM from a different carrier before you begin the porting process.
