    Porting out of Legacy and keeping with new number

    Would like to port out number attached to a Prepaid Legacy account to a new prepaid One account. Will T-Mobile assign a new number and keep the Legacy account active if I port out? Or maybe I can port to a AT&T prepaid in case.

    It is more of a transfer than a port out because it is the same company.
    You need to call them and see if what you want is even possible.
    Call a few times if you don't like the first or second answer.
    It might not be possible to keep the Legacy account alive.
    Traditionally, porting out kills the original account.

    If it can be done, someone here has probably done it.
    Hopefully they will speak up.

    But call T-Mobile until you are satisfied that their answer is accurate.

    Yes, worst case, just port out to another carrier if you don't want to lose the number.

    However T-Mobile should have no issue converting it to another type of account.

    Also pretty sure that you will not be able to get another Legacy prepaid account.
