    Thank You

A sincere Thank You to wes786, TadMorose, and all the others who helped so many save some money.

However one might feel about out-of-province plans allowing Canadians access to rational wireless pricing, those who gave unstintingly of their time here deserve our appreciation.

Yup, thanks. To be honest their threads were one of the few reasons I still pop by hofo. RFD tried the same thing, banning conversations the carriers frowned on. Drove a lot of people to hofo. Now that they allow it again, I don’t see anyone there recommending hofo anymore. And now that it’s banned here even less so I expect.

Here is another thank-you to everyone who contributed useful information.

Too bad with regards to the topic ban. I think that civilized discussion about the topic should be allowed.

Seems rather arbitrary and heavy handed. Maybe someone decided hofo had too many people visiting these days?

If I had to guess, it's advertisers pressuring them to block.

People shared information, to help make wireless more affordable.

Something which our Government says we have a right to.

The Government’s objectives are to improve the quality, coverage, and price of services.
All Canadians and Canadian businesses deserve high quality telecommunications services at affordable prices.
    - letter from ISED to new CRTC chair
But discussing the means to access affordable prices can earn you a ban here on Howard Forums.

It's because there is a pinned thread with 360 000+ views and another with 60 000+ views. All discussing the same thing AD NAUSEUM. Most of the questions are just repetitions of previously addressed scenarios that people don't bother to read thru. So it's taking away traffic from other more pressing threads that get bumped down for no reason.

That would be my guess - and I'm glad they did it too.

The only reason it bumped down other threads is that the same moderator locked the sticky and said to open another thread. Then that thread became to popular and because it wasn't sticky, it bumped all others. So, if you are correct about the reasoning, it is fundamentally flawed.

At this point, I assume the original threads will soon be deleted too. Doesn't really matter at this point. Traffic in the koodo forum seems about nil. This will finish that and they can just make it a part of the Telus forum again.

5714 & TelecomZombie by far gave the most/best info in these forums
They both also got themselves on the carriers s__t lists for what they said and did

We all know someone said something to the people who run this board
Carriers have in the past figured out who posts under each screen name & certain topics are taboo

If you don't think there is something happening behind the scenes you are not watching closely enough
But many long term posters have abandoned HoFo
It is sad I need to state the obvious but some people just don't get it. Any posts I make are my own OPINIONS and in no way represent the views of my employer
