My tethering has worked since day one.

I think only real change is the automatic APN and removal of the option to edit the APN.

So, I take it WiFi calling isn't there yet?

Yes sir. Just checked. But I'm at work, so you'll have to wait until I'm at home to check for VoWiFi. But until you clued me in on this, I can't check because my work area is under the 3G umbrella.

There is no Vo-Wifi as of yet on Apple Devices with the latest Carrier update with Freedom Mobile. I hope this answers your question about the Vo-Wifi

Vo-Wifi is not related to you being under a 3G umbrella. In your Screenshot you are clearly connected to WiFi, so you should go to settings phone, if it was available you would see it there.

FYI: As of the latest Carrier update there is no Vo-Wifi

That's not my screenshot, as I'm not home. Work is under 3G. Home (in my "hood") is LTE (Band 7). But that will eventually have to be pushed out. When is a question mark.

Can you try the Android way to register for VoWifi (i.e. download the app and register) and see if that enables anything on the iphone?

It's not in my Phone Settings yet. Which means Freedom hasn't pushed out the correct Carrier Settings. But at least LTE is certified. When you toggled this switch a warning would pop up. It doesn't anymore.

Bonus is that we no longer have to put in the APN settings. I'll add a footnote to my post.

Did you sign up for VoWifi in the app though? I think that is required for e911. On Android phones the vowifi button doesn't appear or work until you register in the app.

It's not in the app. Unless I'm seeing things wrong. On iPhones, this will appear under "Phone" in the Settings Menu. This morning I didn't see it, and more than likely will require a Carrier Update, for it to be activated.

VoLTE and Wifi Calling are not available on Freedom according to the Apple page. It's something that Freedom is likely still testing and hasn't deployed yet...

I just updated my iPhone SE from iOS 10.3.3 to 11.2 and ONLY after that update did the Freedom Carrier 31.1 update become available. my SE did not do the update at all from iOS 10.3.3. I'm therefore suspecting that all iPhones that stay with iOS 10.3.3 or older for whatever reason will not be able to use the Freedom 31.1 update. Hofo should keep this thread for those using older iPhones & those on iOS 10.3.3 or older.

Is there a way to edit a carrier settings update file? Jailbreaking?

You can't discuss jailbreaking on here. We can keep the thread, since iPhones have crazy longevity, but some people at some point will have to upgrade to 11.x. I'm guessing at some point people will be replacing their iPhones. I might get an 8 Plus in the new year and keep my 6S Plus as a burner, or even a 7 Plus. I might do a 7 Plus. Depends. I guess whatever is scratching the itch at the time.

Why am I doing this? I always have a phone as a backup. Just in case. When my ZE552KL kept on being serviced, my ZE551ML was pressed into service. Since getting an iPhone, I've had zero issues. If I get another iPhone, then my Androids will all be retired. I will keep the ZE552KL and ZE551ML, just to toy around with.

You also might have to manually initiate an update for the iPhone. All my updates have come manually.
