    Mystery Data Usage?

My wife has an older iPhone but just upgraded the iOS a few weeks ago. Immediately, her phone started using small amounts of data which it had never done before. She has tried to disable all obvious data grabbers and even has disabled text! However every day, 10MB or so of data is used and she has a 100MB Puppy Wireless plan so is getting charged extra.

Does anyone know what could be using data in I assume the new OS? (I'm an Android user so I can't help her.) Many thanks in advance.

Thank you. As an aside, I have data disabled on my cellular MVNO (Puppy) and despite that it was using data. I don't understand how that's possible.

Text messages do not use data but MMS messages do. It is up to the policies of the carrier whether data used for MMS are chargeable to your data allowances. Notifications may use data. Apple's iMessage uses data for all messages sent to or received from users of iPhones and iPads.

Puppy told me it was a Verizon issue and that they've fixed it now so that if data is disabled on Puppy, it's actually disabled.
