    Slow data speeds

The 0.28 & 2.28 are in my area. The 7.88 & 3.58 were when visiting family in the same state about 180 miles away.

What can I do about these slow speeds? AT&T is the most used carrier in my area.

I had similar speeds on X-mas weekend near our mall. I would hate to live near there during the holidays, as I’m sure everyone close had crappy service from att. Friend of mine on post paid had ****** service as well.

My guess would be the holidays, and the only thing you could do is wait until after. Good luck.

The service in north naples florida is terrible. I only got 1 or 2 bars using my iphone on 4G or LTE. Data is extremely slow to unusable.

Is this normal for this area?

Check every carrier's signal before choosing your service.

Bars is relative. A phone can be programmed to display whatever it want based on RSSI value. I have 2-3 bars inside my house on unlmited2 and on unlimited and max out and maintain their respective speeds. Cannot speak to your particular situation.

I did NOT notice a holiday slow down.

Maybe I don't know how to read this map, but it says I do NOT have coverage at my house with AT&T.

    Bars mean nothing.

You might be in a congested area. It happens.

Those maps can be a great tool in being able to see coverage...

Now for the draw backs to those types of maps... it’s user populated. Meaning if no one drives by your house using the app to test signal, speed, etc.. it won’t show up on their maps. Looking at the map, you can clearly see a purple circle nearby if you zoom out, showing someone who tested the signal, speed etc at that location. They would need to do multiple of test and drive down your street to populate that map.

Open Signal and Coverage Map are two other apps that do a similar thing in regards to showing coverage based on users data. So don’t rely on them 100% especially if theirs no data at all.

Now if you see poor connection, signal, etc based on where you live, travel, work, etc. then you can make an informed decision.

    Slow data speeds

Here’s a pix of Coverage Map for the iPhone. Works well as long as theirs user data. You can see by the pic some spots with no test sample, dark blue with good signal/speeds, light blue with average speed, and Red with poor signal/speeds. You can even choose different carrier data, but if you see one for cricket, don’t bother as all test done by users show up as AT&T for obvious reason and not under cricket.

Hope this helps out a bit to understand these types of maps.

These aren't slow speeds, its the best service Cricket can offer because they throttle everyone. There is no magic trick to get faster speeds, you need to switch carriers. That's it.
