Unlocking phone before 3 months is up?

My GF and I switched to Metro recently and I love it! However, her, not too much. No coverage at all at her house (even though coverage map shows differently). So, looks like she'll have to switch to something else.

As we know, a metro phone has a "3 month to unlock" policy. But she can't wait 3 months and we hate to have a phone we can't use. So, I'm asking if anyone has ever unlocked a metro phone before 3 months was up. If so, how? Send me a PM if you don't want to post here.

    Thanks.

Buy the unlock on eBay. Will run you about 25-35 bucks

Try the Metro phone unlocking app. It has worked for us before 3-mos.

I unlocked 3 Samsung Galaxy Prime J7s prior to the 3 months; no problems at all. I paid ~$25 per unlock from a non eBay merchant.

There may be some place a little cheaper if you don't wanna pay the 25 dollars

The place advertisement says (98%) and others have had success. Rather not name them.

Yes. I did. Purchased Sept 16 with 1 month service. Never paid a penny more.

    Day 90, unlock app, success.

Thanks!! Some have been wondering if they still unlock with the app at 90 days. I picked my Blade up just before Christmas so I've got a long wait still. My Metro ZPro hotspots on Cricket just fine. Does the Blade hotspot on Cricket too?????

I have had the same experience as above with unlocking. My most recent were a Z Blade and a K20+, bought them OCT 14, never added service beyond the first 30 days, and was able to permanently unlock them yesterday using the app.

My youngest has been through a couple of ZMax Pros, and likes them a lot, the Blade will be a great upgrade. The K 20 isn't that great on paper, but I have been using it tethered a good bit and like it a lot. If something happens to my HTC M9 it would do fine as a temporary replacement.
