    USB drivers and help.

I have answered so many questions on USB problems I thought I would post these links.

USB install program and drivers. http://idenphones.motorola.com/iden/...stallation.jsp

Motorol's USB training site and trouble shooting for USB problems.
    http://idenphones.motorola.com/iden/...n/usbhome.html

And last my post on how you can use IDEN update with XP.

This should answer all your USB questions and problems.
Posting. It's about quality, not quantity!

I'm moving this to the software forum.

But I'll sticky it for a bit since there seem to be a lot of questions about USB lately.
    Check out my reviews here.

Yea i've tried all the fixes and driver patches but nothing wants to work. I always get the same message the the usb driver cables aren't installed. I've installed the drivers from teh motorola website and have searched through this forum for the xp patches (and have used them) but still no luck. I'm a computer technition and i still can't get this too work (grrrr) Any help would be really appreciated.

Make sure your cord and phone are connected and the remove the USB device before re-installing. also here is the driver I used to get it to work on my computer and my girlfriends computer. some of the others I tried did not work.

Thanks for the .sys file. Is there a inf file to go with it? I tried to just use the .sys file as a driver but had no luck. Thanks

    .inf would be nice....

I've tried everything.. I've posted once on here for help for usb drivers, and the guy gave me a link to webjal... It's ok though atleast he didn't give me the noob search speach.. I don't know what to do.. I've tried the usb drivers from motorola, and about everything else I can find from there.. I have a usb modem listed.. So drivers may be working.. When I plug in my phone cable though, *new device found* *installed unknown device* pops up right away.. I had given up for a while, but I'm back now because I may have another approach.. I noticed while looking through various ports trying to find the usb modem, and failing, a box comes up with things to check.. *cable connected properly, blah blah and so on..* One of them asks if it's baud is set to auto and if it's currently being used for data services... Well my phone is constantly using data services.. Can this be the problem? If so how do I fix it.. Today I noticed that when I first turn the phone on, the IP page up top is just a floppy disc... But when I hit any button at all, it turns into an IP again.. I thought wait, I may have the answer... I went upstairs, turned on my phone, and plugged it in to the cable, but then it turned into an IP page again! If this is my problem, do I have to put my phone in a lead lined shoe box so it doesn't get signal?!!?! This is the only thing left that I know of to try, that is if it isn't the damn drivers!..

Sorry the post is so long..
    Thanks
    Rax..

I have XP home, USB cable, and a i95. it works with Webjal, IDEN update, and companion pro. ringers, wallpapers, and java apps work with all the programs so I know it can be done.

I'm not sure what .ini file your guys are asking for, all you need is the USB modem file I attached eariler.

The most important step is to remove the drivers if it does not work. the cable must be attached and you have to totally remove it in the device manager. the best way to install it is with the USB install program. if that does not work uninstall it again and download the USB driver that I attached. download it to somewhere you can find and then plug in the usb cable to the computer and attach it to the phone. when it tries to install the new hardware it will ask you if you have the program disc or to look somewhere else. point it to the USB file that you downloaded and it should install.

last and not least if it still does not work, go to your hard drive (usually C drive), to WINDOWS folder, to SYSTEM32 folder, to DRIVERS folder, and copy or move the USB modem file to the drivers folder. then plug the cable and phone in again.

    I hope this helps.

    Thumbs up my point?

my point is that you cannot download your factory installed wallpapers even if your account summary shows that you can but when it opens idenupdate and you go through the process it wont let you it says that there is no wallpapers to download,!!!

Make sure the USB cable is plugged in. right click on "my computer" and select the "hardware" tab. click on "device manager" and click on "modems". right click on the "motorola IDEN USB modem" and select "uninstall". remove the USB cable before it tries to re-install. you can also manually remove it by going to C drive, windows, sysyem32, drivers, and delete the usbser.sys file (the same as the one attached above). then run the USB install program and follow the instructions. DO NOT plug in the cable until told to by the install program.
