I finally got to use my M3000 last night with my new t610, and what every one is saying about the voice quality is true. I didn't have to repeat any words, or ask the person on the other line to say things twice. No cracking noises, or hissing. Didn't really try out the range yet, but it was almost like talking on the hand set.
It's not the most discrete headset, but if you are more of a functionality over form type of person, then this is the headset to get. Plus it's only 68 bucks shipped.

Feels like ive been around this forum forever....lol
Sounds great, I'll get one as well then especially since there is a special offer for an M3000 and a free Bluetooth Dongle (made by Kondor/Mobile Accessories) which may not be top of the line but it's only £79.99 for both

Mine is in the mail, can't wait to test it with my Siemens S56 and TT palm (I know the headset can't talk to the palm but I'm hoping I can dial from the palm and transfer to headset without touching the phone)

I preordered the N-Gage today so I should be able to test the M3000 in about 2 weeks. I look forward to it.
Anybody got the voice dialing on this to work? I unlocked my phone with the unlock code, and it hasn't seemed to work yet. Do I need to do a master reset?
Nevermind, I got voice dial to work. Actually, you wait about 2 seconds after the tone, before you say the person's name. Someone said something about it not working and them having to do a master reset. I can't find that thread now though. Was that for the caller's name feature? Anyways, I was able to wiggle the M3000 off my ear today w/o the use of my hands. Just tilted my head to one side, and wiggle wiggle wiggle, and it came off. I'm using the small loop. And I don't have tiny ears either. I doubt during actual usage, that it would come off, but who knows. Still a great headset !!!
Got my M3000 yesterday and played with it a little bit this morning. This is my first BT headset. Paired it to my T616 without any problems. Voice dialing works pretty good. But as others have mentioned, you wait a second after the initial tone before saying your first command. You hear the tone and then you can hear a faint click which I assume means that it has connected. The second command (if any) can be said pretty much right after the tone (eg. Work, Mobile, etc)
I called my voicemail at work and recorded a few messages under different environments:
- at home, quiet -> message was clear although it was a little faint but I could still make out everything
- in car driving (between 60-120 km/h), windows up -> same as at home
- in car, radio on at decent volume -> picked up the radio a little bit but could still hear my voice
- in car, windows down -> all I heard was wind noise, couldn't pick up my voice at all
- in car, sunroof open -> picked up some wind noise
Based on my limited testing, I'm happy with it so far. Obviously, it performed best when the environment is quiet. I did notice some static and sometimes the call sounded garbled for a second or two. The static I would assume was from the headset. Maybe some interference was near by. The garbled sound resembled a call with a weak signal. Both of these distortions were heard at my house where the signal isn't the greatest. I'll have to keep track when it happens.
Comfort is okay. It doesn't feel real secure but I don't think it would fall off on its own. Also, it fit fine while I was wearing glasses (both my regular and sunglasses). I'm using the smaller of the two earloops. Build quality seems pretty good although I can see the earpiece breaking down the road.
What I couldn't get working was transferring a call from my handset to the headset. And I guess that all calls placed on the handset is directed to the headset if it is on.

After using the M3000 for about 2 weeks, I must say that this unit is impressive. Battery life could be a bit better but it works fine for my usage level. The connection is stable and clear as long as you're in the same room and even if you go into another room, you can still make a call.
Quick tip: To redial the last number you called on your phone, press the Call button twice within a second so that there's no tone. The M3000 should then redial the last dialed number on your cell phone.

my bro just picked on up for $90 CDN + shipping? (forgot lol) and i'm gonna try it out when he comes in a mth... just worried about comfort at the moment... the BT250 is what i want... but the price difference is very great.. if i find it good, then i'll take the M3000 over the Jabra.. if i remem, u can replace the battery? since the HDW-2 can be replaced?
Yep you can replace the battery, the compartment is toward the end of the headset where the earloop connects. Plantronics recommends that you replace the battery once a year according to the instruction manual.Originally posted by alpha tag
