Hey there,
I am interested in getting a flip phone but I am not sure exactly which one I want, heck I'm not sure whether I will go CDMA or GSM.
I heard GSM has normally ****** penetration of buildings and that rogers Network in whole has ****** coverage, but that is just hear say. CDMA seems to be a stronger signal with better coverage.
I heard of a dual band (850 1900) phone or something like that. Some people have said that GSM with the dual band like that, can get better penetration and can even get signal where no CDMA can. Is this true? If so which phones have this?
Now I have heard of a quad band, what would that be like???
Also, if I get an unlocked phone can I through it on Rogers GSM network?

I actualy just switched from Bell Mobility CDMA to Roger's GSM and have had no problems with coverage at all. I was concerned at first becuase I know that in the US the GSM coverage is terrible. When i purchased my 3595, I had considered a T721. The dealer actually convinced me to get the less expensive phone because I was concerned with coverage. The 3595 works on both 850 an 1900mhz, Either option will probably work well for you.
I would like to mention that GD88 sucks!
Honestly DigitalRumor I would suggest talking to either your local Rogers and Telus/Bell dealers or friends that use both. Yes, in some areas a flip phone that is dual band(Motorola T720 or V300) will give you better reception than a CDMA phone, but it is REALLY dependant on your area.
I know that 850 is up and running in the Okanagan area, however I can't comment on the coverage there as I live in the Greater Vancouver area.
So either find someone on here that lives in the Okanagan(preferably the areas you'd be using your phone in mostly) and has used both GSM and CDMA or contact your local dealers and try to make the best judegement call possible.
Hope I helped at least a little!
