Ok as promised, just got back from my meeting with the Motorola Rep for VS and I will share all the info that I can about upcoming Motorola phones.

V60g - should be available all markets ny Mon April 15th or so/ As you may or may not know, Voicestream subsidizes (buys down) their phones for their dealers and customers and they shoudl be offering this at a significantly lower price than Cingular (199-249_

V66g - Will be VS exclusive, actually T_mobile exclusive and should be available only in the CA/NV markets and will be offered during our launch. The price this phone will be offered at is 80-100 bucks.

P280Plus - upgrade of the 280 with a blue backround light and bluetooth available June-July

c336 replacement to the T193, VS Exclusive, August

V70 - Currently a Cingular exclusive, for 3 months only as they agreed to a higher volume comittment to get it exclusive for 3 months, but VS will be carrying it late July

Also the P388 might be picked up for Quarter 3 or 4 but it depends on how well the current PDA phones sell..(P388 is a PDA phone running on a Starfish OS)

Thats about all I can share with you guys. I know we will have a new spokesPERSON and some big summer ads tied in with certain a certain summer movie.

Since it seems like you are well informed, can you tell me what new NOKIA phones,VS will carry during this year, Rockstyle?

why would they do this?? why don't they just release it to all voicestream users. not that i would get it, but that doesn't make any sense.

They will make the v66 exclusive to T-Mobile, and probably locally available as your market transitions to T-Mobile in the late summer/fall. Just a marketing ploy. At some point I would think anyone could get it via customer care.

Although I'm not Rockstyle, I've got a few connections, and have heard nothing about any new Nokias. They decided not to carry the 8390, mainly b/c of price I believe. However, I would guess (this is only my opinion here) that VS will look hard at the Nokia tribands (6310i, 7210) since one of VS issues w/Nokia was their 1900 only handsets (with the exception of the 8890)

No, I actually have not heard anything about the 6590 or the 6210i or 7210. I was just pointing out that since Nokia is finally offering tri-bands, VS will talk to them again. VS is a global company now, since they are T-Mobile. They want to offer global phones. Until now, Nokia didn't have any

I have not met with the nokia rep so I have no idea what will be out.

I should meet with the Sony Ericsson soon, but I know that the T68 (I I believe) will be available from Voicestream soon. The latest would be at the California launch which is in June, but it could be sooner. But I do know after today that as of right now it is planned that we carry it, as for when...beats me for now.

The V66 is CA/NV exclusive to help with the marketing for the new Ca Launch AND because it will be the first Voicestream Market to be branded as T-Mobile. It will never be know as Voicestream in Ca. They have ordered 40,000 units I believe and they will all be available for just the CA/NV launch. When you consider VS is probably buying down this phone 100-150 bucks for users they'd probbaly want it available as something for people to just activate on as opposed to people trying to get it as an upgrade and as we will be launching in a new market virtually all customers would be brand new T-Mobile subscribers.

And yes, the Summer movie is what you think, but that is not the spokesperson. I guess Myers would be a spokesman because he is the star of Austin Powers, but he is not THE spokesperson and only the character and movie "Austin Powers" would be promoting T-Mobile/Motorola, but he is not THE new spokesperson.

Samsung will also have a BIG new spokesperson and inadvertenly a T-Mobile spokesperson because although they should be pushing all models, one they will be pushing big is the new Voicestream/T-Mobile exclusive GSM phone which will not (and probably never) be available to other GSM carriers.

i was just joking about mike myers being the spokesperson.

it's obviously a female and the only other star in that movie is beyonce knowles, unless it's heather graham, but she only has a cameo in that movie.

sorry, but the spokesperson is not anyone from the Austin Powers movie at all. The Austin Powers thing is something separate from the permanent spokesperson who is replacing Jamie Lee as the spokesperson, unless Jamie Lee will continue to be th4e Voicestream one and the new person will be the T-Mobile one, but I don't think Jamie Lee is the spokesperson at all any longer.

On motorola website the V60g is avail for purchase for voicestream directly from motorola but its high 425.00! Motorola says it can lower price is your already have service but who knows!

Also this phone claims it can do this:

Personalization Features - Customize main menu, keys, greeting, banner and quick dial.

Your able to change the banner to what ever u want!
