What do you mean by your computer has the router? That makes no sense
    My Plan:

    1) what is the wg311 for? extended range?

    2) why do you have a computer connected directly to the wgr614? no wireless card for that machine?

    3) are you certain that the ip your sister's machine is using is not blocked from the outside network by the router?

    4) did you turn on wep, but not configure your sister's machine with the key?

    5) are you using dhcp to serve addresses? if not, did you configure your sister's machine with a valid ip manually?

This still makes no sense. The router must be hooked up to BOTH computers, either through wired ethernet or wireless ethernet.

    as i said above:

    1) are you use static IP or dhcp? if you are planning to use dhcp, did you turn that on in the router config?

    2) once you have a valid ip for your sister's machine, you must make sure you are not blocking that machine by ip or that you are not blocking services to her machine.

with the wgr614, dhcp is on by default, so she should be getting a valid address. so you need to make sure you aren't blocking anything with the router.

if you installed the software fire wall that came with the router, you need to make sure it is not blocking anything.

finally, if you turned on wep at the wg614, then you need to configure your sister's machine with the proper key.

Well I would first check the device manager to make sure that the card is detected properly

everything is the default installation setting, the only thing i'm blocking is the balster worm ports 4444, 135-139, and 69.

C:\> is the prompt. At that prompt you type in

    ipconfig /all
