Hello ;I'm new to this forums, so please be lenient with me.
I have (for now!) three questions:
1: what's the "i" in my nokia phone mean?
2: I want to know all the secrets codes for my nokia 3586i
I already know two codes
*#837#
*3001#12345#
3: there's more codes?
thanks in advance!
hello?
anyone?
I just got a 3586i also, but have nothing useful to add. Did you ever find any more out?
Not at the moment, however I'm still seaching for new codes.
I believe there's more codes for this phone.
I hope someone can share your secrets with me.
thanks dude!
I found out:
"
Enable "Field Test"
Power off/on
Menu "Network Monitor"
enter "3101"
user up/dn arrows to move between screens
hold "*" to see labels for displayed values, "*" again to return.
... On my 3586i in the 1st screen of the field Test mode (31-01), it seems to show the -dB signal strength. (-72 ect..).
My 5185i sig str display was very "dynamic" & "real time", & the numbers would constantly jump around, especially if you moved around - (-72, -63, -64 ect..).
This 3586i seems to hold the same sig strength value much longer, & only "update" the figure every 20-30 secs or so...
Anyone with a 3586/89i able to vaerify if yours acts this way too??
I just checked it out and noticed the same thing in mine. It isn't very dynamic at all and update about every 15-20 seconds.
"
Interesting information dude.
where did you found that?
I entered in those menus but I don't know what to do there.
I also have a question, there's a way to increase the antenna gaining using those menus?
mine runs :
-97/-72
-100/-72
-103/-72
and so on!
I'm clueless!
I found something, isn't much but here's another code.
life timer: hold # for 5 seconds
No one answered the question about what the "i" means. The i means that it is an updated version, or has more features, or is for a different providor. The 6590i is the EXACT same thing as the 6590, but the 6590i has the 850/1900mhz GSM, unlikc the 6590 wich only has 1900. And the 6590i is made for Cingular, and the 6590 is for AT&T. The 8265 is made for a number of providors, and the 8265i is made only for Cingular (there may be a few other small feature changed for different providors).
Thanks "compuwiz1937" appreciated.
I'll keep going for more answers.!
found more codes:
*#66767# (mo-sms on/off)
*#75681# (this will re-start your phone, restart slot cycle) -I don't know what it means.
*#7370# (restore factory settings)
*#639# (Service programming code) -I don't know what's password is, someone can share some light on this?
that's all for now.
anyone have used those codes and take any advantage of them?
The "i" indicates the phone has within it something similar and the same appx size as a SIM chip, though it's not GSM. This slot is for a card called an R-UIM or Removable User Identity Module. The slot is disabled in this model, and it's purpose is as a placeholder for release of a CDMU model later down the road.

Hi Roberts,
I just purchased my 3586i from Bell Mobility (a Canadian provider). I am able to enable the Field Test and my phone did turn off and back on by itself. However, I can't find Network Monitor. Where is that? What is the menu item before and after Network Monitor?
Thanks.

Supposedly the 3588i and the 3586i are the same base phones. To access the Net Monitior on the 3588i you enter
##786# - takes you to this diagnostic menu
go to options and then service screen and turn it on. On start up it should be menu screen 11.
However, what does the Net Monitior do? Also I was wondering if anyone could instruct me or just send me in the right direction on how to unlock the "Applications" menu. SprintPCS is selling these phones with Java capability but no way to access it. I would be very greatful for any help.
Thanks again![]()
