Question How does the T616 work as a phone? How is its reception?

Gotta' admit, I think the T616 is a cool-looking phone. I've played around with it an AT&T Wireless store, but I want to know if it's more than just a good looking device. How well does it work as a phone? How is its reception? Is its reception as good as any of the top of the line Nokia's for reception (i.e., the 3650, 6310i, 6590, 6200, etc.)?

    Thanks.

this phone svcks for rf performance, but under the hood, its really good. the irda and bluetooth connections are fast. This phone is a multimedia phone, not a reliebalephone. the only knock on this phone is its lackluster receiption.

well alot of folks say the RF rox, and i agree as well. It can get like 1 bar but its much better than my 3bars on my 3650.

I have no problems with the RF performance of the phone. There are no places where my Nokia 6200 or 3650 work remarkably better than the T616. Trust me, if the RF performance wasn't that great, I wouldn't be using it as my primary phone.

I am not going to sit here and let some guy be suckered into buying a SE 616.

Here is the test. While in my basement, if you can complete an IVR quote from 1800-GO-FEDEX for the cost of a package between any two zip codes in the US while using a t616, I will buy you a t616 for use as you see fit. If I can do the same thing, standing in the same place as you were, using the same zips you select, and get a successful quote using a Siemens S56 or nokia 6200, you buy me a 6200 or S56? deal?

maybe in PA it is good, but not in cali. the 6200 works much better. one thing to note is that we dont have 850 here yet. once 850 is launched(i thought the fcc had to approve of it, but its acutally that att needs to licensce there towers here) the coverage here should rock with this phone.

if they don't have an 850 license, I would expect them to get one anytime soon. Carriers hold onto to those like GOLD because the corresponding infrastructure has had 20 years to mature as opposed to about 10 for the 1900 carriers
