Greetings,
Happened to me once before too, actually.
Your phone was probably in Analog mode, I guess.

So I dialed out this afternoon, expecting to hear ringing. Instead, I overheard someone's conversation!
After I pressed Send, I heard "I'm walking my dog" by a girl, then another girl responded, "Oh! You're walking your dog."
I immediately freaked out and pressed End.
(I kicked myself later, thinking that it would've been fun overhearing a conversation.)
The two voices were crystal clear. Actually clearer than what I've ever heard on my n370.
I'm wondering, how often does this happen?
I've experienced this while on analog or TDMA almost a decade ago, on Bell.
After I hung up on those two, I was nervous that my call would be overheard like theirs was by me.

Nope. I checked for the little D before I pressed End.
your line is probably tapped.![]()
Just buggin dude. I don't know why that happened. Very Strange indeed.
MobileRookie here, just changed nickname... Hated that n/n.
I've been seeing a lot of Bell vehicles around my home all last week. (Doesn't everyone?) I saw at least 4 everyday driving around or parked around here, so maybe they were building something.
Also, I usually get poor reception deep inside my home. But since last evening, I've been getting solid reception everywhere. So maybe they built a new tower?
About damn time they built one! There's a FIDO tower right beside my apartment building. (I almost bought a phone with Fido for that reason.)
That happened to me once. I was talking to a Telus CS and the signal strength was really weak. She put me on hold for a sec and all of a sudden I hear a woman (sounded like the cs rep but it wasn't) talking to some guy. I don't remember the coversation but suffice to say it was unbelievably boring. I guess it switched from cdma to analog onto the wrong channel. lol![]()
Oops, ha just read my last reply. Looks like I deleted my point.
I brought up that I think they built something new because I think that might have been why I was able to eaves drop while on Digital... Since this technology is supposed to be pretty uber secure, right? hahahaha...
And I'm sure that I was still in Digital when I overheard their call. I checked and re-checked for the D before I pressed End.
If it was crystal clear, it probably was a problem at the switch or trunking to the tower, not the air-interface. It IS extremely difficult to just "listen" to a CDMA signal - and you'd only be able to hear one side if you were actually picking up a bit-stream over the air.
Being able to clearly hear a conversation like that is a switch failure. You can have a super-secure air interface, but if something goes wrong with a DAC or ADC somewhere, it really doesn't matter.
Cheeri'o...
Frankie...
Please Note: I do not work for Bell. I also do not work for any wireless retail outlet.
Do not ask me about promotions or offers from wireless providers.
Same thing happened to me whilst in Cancun, Mexico, although the coverage is 100 % AMPS there with TelCel, I went to make a call , and it connected to a convo in Spanish... but not b4 charging me the $2.50 for the first minute of the call !
Digital here Canada side is usually pretty secure, I'd say in the past year, I've taken one complaint regarding this issue, and the customer was is But F*** Ontario ( Actually roaming on Superior Wireless/ not even out network) in Analog
This happened to me about six years ago, except I was on a landline and my boss on the other end was on a Rogers phone. For about 10 seconds, he cut out and I heard a conversation between two girls. Then my boss came back on, and I was ROTFL.
