Question Nokia CDMA and Sprint PCS Network

    Hi all,

I'm looking to get into the wireless phone world and after much reading it seems that Sprint PCS has the plan that suits me best. I've also come to the conclusion that Nokia makes the best phones.

Every Sprint PCS retailer have been doing their best to tell me that Nokia phones can't be use with Sprint PCS. I know this can't be true. CDMA is CDMA. They are trying to get me to buy a phone they sell. I want a Nokia. Can anyone tell me which models of Nokias are compatible with Sprint PCS? Feedback is appreciated.

Bottom line is that Sprint will not activate a phone that they don't sell you

    Unhappy Change of plan

Oh really? That coupled with the number of Customer Service horror stories... well it seems I'll just have to not use Sprint as my provider. Thanks for the tip off.

Sprint will not activate a phone that they didn't originally buy.

I have had two different 6185s and had no problems getting them activated. I can get you a 6185 without a battery or charger for $35. If you are interested, drop me a line.

    Too late.

    Thanks but no thanks Brad.

I've already gone with an AT&T regional plan and an 8260 phone.

Too bad Sprint is like that.

    Hey, no problem man.

Sprint sells phones at a higher price than most other CDMA providers, so they are just trying to prevent people from buying subsidized phones and unlocking them. Can't really blame them, but at the same time, IT SUCKS!
