    Sound Forge Trial

I downloaded the Sound Forge you said too, it kept popping up that it would expire in 30 days. Well, I have only had it for 5 days and it seems to have expired. It keeps coming up that I have done something with 20 songs and i need to buy the full version. Any suggestions. I really dont want to pay $400.

By the way, thanks for the directions, they were great!!!!!!

I have found a free alternative for sound forge. I found it on here, it is called Audacity. I don't have the link to their website, but I have it uploaded to my website for anyone wishing to download it. You will also need to download this .dll file that it keeps saying that it needs in order to convert to an MP3, so here are the 2 files needed.

    http://phone.sphereshards.com/audacity-win-1.2.0.exe
http://phone.sphereshards.com/lame3.97a3.zip <-- just unzip this, and when you run audacity, it will ask for the path to the .dll file when you try saving an MP3.

    I hope this helps someone.

    audacity

I am having trouble getting Audacity to encode Mp3's that will play on my phone. I get them to save as Mp3's and then use bitpim to save to my phone. But when i play them, no sound.

any help would be greatly appreciated.
    yup.

Thank you KLH, that worked. Although i copied the same amount of time as all the rest, but the file seems to be alot bigger then the others, do you happen to know why? Also, is there a way to convert it to mono?

Thanks again for all your help, i really appreciate it.

notnomis, I am not sure why. You might try restarting your phone. Is it just MP3s that your phone won't play, or any type of file that you upload to your phone?

kelli7968, I don't know why the files are bigger. I've noticed them being bigger also, but truethly I don't care. Right now I have just under 5 megs of MP3s uploaded to my phone, and haven't had any problems yet with memory. I also don't know how to convert to mono, I just leave them as they are, since it is less work for me and it works.

    KLH,

it will upload and play EVERY Mp3/midi that I sampled from soundforge (trial version is expired). It will upload and play SOME of the Mp3/midi files sampled through Audacity.

Tried powering off and on as you suggested, No go.

    any ideas?

I didn`t read this whole thread so I may not need to write this, but the music editior program "Goldwave" . It is far superior to Soundforge, I`ve had a traial version for quite some time and I`m still using it...so I don`t know if I have a cracked version or what but you can convert to mono and do just about whatever else you want.

    Man Alive.

I could not would not should not get this to work with my vx6000. Finally I read some fine print on bitpim.sourceforge.net's website...

On Windows, you will be unable to use com ports greater than com9 (eg com12). You need to change the portname to be \\?\com12 (with the correct number as appropriate). BitPim 0.7-test6 onwards do this automatically.

Mine was on com11 (a lot of my com ports get eaten up by bluetooth's ports).

    Works great now. w00t.
