i'm tellin ya - i did everything the same. when the file extension was .mid it wouldn't accept it. after i changed it to .midi and sent the same file again, it went through no problem. i had this problem with every ringtone i now have on my phone. they all work now, only after i changed it to .midi
i know, it doesn't make any sense to me either:rolleyes2

thrice...
no you cant put a ringer longer than 15 seconds with out a cable.. the phone wont store it.. no more than 30k is allowed to be stored as a ringer./
so, what you're saying is that the data cable bypasses the 30kb limit for ringtone files? if so, i'm buying one today!Originally posted by JTRipper

ok how do i get a 15 min. ringtone with out a cable?
shadow- buy the cable.. download bitpim and soundforge.. your set for 30 sec ringers... no more than 20 ringers though.. more than 20 messes with the phone..
thrice..
go to www.vzwpix.com and register there.. you can send 15 sec MIDI ringers to your phone that way. now 15 secs is a guide. the phone will only store it if the ringer is less than 30kb,
just follow the instructions posted here on how to convert the song to midi. and then send it from the web site
Is sound forge software free? I went to the Soundforge website and it costs 399, am I looking at the wrong software?
sound forge offers a free trail version that allows you to decode 20 mp3's
i cant tell you other means of obtaining a full retail version.
you'll have to look for that yerself. or pay the 400 bucks
I have the same software as you and tryed everything you'v said and cant get it to play on my phone. I keep getting "failed to play pix Msg" when i try to open the file. The file is 25kb so any suggestions, anyone?Originally posted by shadow_horizon
