if you put toothpaste on your screen, will it prevent dust?

i dont remember where, but i heard that if you clean your screen with toothpaste, and leave it there for a while, it creates some sort of screening and prevents dust on your screen, is it true? Or of you spit on it........

i heard dipping it in alcohol or letting it sit in a toilet for a few days will make your screen super shiny and very dust free, as well as increase reception, LOL!

heh, nothing can stop dust from entering most plastic cover phones. Alcohol is a good cleaner though.

Anyone have any good tried and true ways to protect the screen from small/large scratches? I hate having a scratched screen, sooo annoying.

buy those screenguards made for nokias. they are aftermarket screen stickers that came with the phone when you bought it.

i've never tried it but a piece of clear packing tape covering the screen would protect it from scratches. get a xacto knife or scalpel or something to trim around the border of the screen. when the tape gets worn looking, just remove and replace. after you've peeled the tape off, if there is stickey gunk leftover, you can use rubbing alcohol to remove it.

there is cleaning gel you can buy for eye glasses that masks scratches also.

This is by far the wierdest thread I have seen in a while......

Well, for my two cents, I heard that using those anibacterial hand cleaners on your faceplate and keys gets it nice and shiny, and clean if you leave it on for a few minutes and let it dry itself......

I don't know about preventing dust and I wouldn't think letting the toothpaste dry would be a good thing -------but------ most toothpastes contain a mild abrasive.... seems it might be just the thing to polish light scratches out of a faceplate lens?
