I've only had one non-flip nextel phone. (up until I got the Boost i205 as a backup, so it doesn't really count)
i1000 (flip)
i85 (non-flip)
i90 (flip)
i95 (flip)
i730 (flip)
i205 (non-flip)
So, obviously I voted for Flip.

Flip phone
Non Flip phone
Just curious as to what kind of phone everyone has, Flip phone or Non Flip phone? I currently have a flip phone, but I'm thinking of getting a Non flip model.
Just wondering what made you choose what you did.
Thanks
I manage our nextel account and phones. We have:
i730 -1
i95cl -5
i90c -1
i60c -1
i85s -2
i35 -3
i30 -15
i700 -28
My i90 is kind of my first flip. I don't think my old MicroTak 650 counts as a flip...but it was the reason I stayed away from flips when choosing my past 5 phones. At this point, the only reason I can see to get a non-flip would be the price, or if the flip didn't have an external screen.
I have had all flip phones:
i1000 plus
i95
graphite i90
i730
i love flip phones. i had the i1000+, i90, i95, i730, and a i85 as back up but i hate it(i use it to play soccer when i am bored.)
Flip for me. I 95. I've had three other flips, all Motorola, and no problems. The I 95 was the hot phone back in May when I signed up with Nextel.
I had an i30 for about a week, most misserable celular expirience ever.....Had 3 or 4 i1000s, a 60, 2 90s, 4-95s, and now a i730..... so flip for me!
I prefer flips. Although there are a lot of really nice non-flip phones out there which I do like, from experience I find that I end up hating candy bar phones once I've lived with them for awhile.
While it's in my pocket, buttons end up getting pressed, the screens always managed to get scratched, the housings get marred from stuff in my pockets. I have to deal with keypad locks, etc... not to mention I only have a limited amount of space in my pocket to begin with, and then I have to dig around through the existing stuff and extract the phone before the call goes to voicemail without accidentally pulling out god knows what.
I'm more of a flip phone with a holster kind of guy... and most of those cases for the candy bar phones are not only ugly IMO, but are uncomfortable, cumbersome, and all around not to my liking.
I liked flip phones after I got one. But I think the navagation is more important than the phone itself. If it's hard to navagate... (Verizon phones.. LG? or even Sony Ericcson's phone)... no matter how the style look, flip or not, it's not a good phone.

iPhone 3g
The last non flip phone I ever had was a Nokia 6160 when I was with AT&T years and years ago. Ever since then I stuck with the flip phone.
Flip phone and I will never go back. It's better to have the keys protected with out having to press keys to unlock the keypad.
