    Long distance caller ID errors

Often when I receive a call from outside the 416 or 905 area codes, my Toronto based cell phone displays a random 416 phone number?!? Other times I get "Private Number" or "No Caller ID Info". I would much rather get the "No Caller ID Info" than a random number.

Anyone know of a way to fix this?

Are you sure they're not using a calling card or some other LD service that reroutes it through a local Toronto number.

In these cases, there's really nothing Bell can do to give you the "REAL" LD number. And since it's from a real line, you won't get "No Caller ID Info", just that line's phoen number... which isn't totally random.

It also depends which long distance provider is carrying the call. Often you'll see a local trunk number which is like a hub. The LD carrier runs all its calls through that hub onto the bell network so according to bell's network the call is coming from that trunk number, not the actual person who called you.
